I spoke to my last two administrators about bullying from a former co-worker. One literally spent over an hour listening to me on two separate occasions, and came to me to follow up to make sure I was okay. He listened to me as I cried over the situation. He spoke to the other person privately, and the behavior stopped while he was in charge. I could breathe again.
My bully’s behavior started up again when a new administrator came on board. One day, he asked me if I was okay, and I briefly shared my concerns. He had no idea how to handle the situation, and could simply not be bothered to help. Not surprisingly, her behavior became increasingly worse. With no support, I left that job.
Can you guess which one is a superintendent today?
